Officers are continuing to appeal for information – including any footage - as they continue to investigate the death of a man in a collision in Trafford last month.
Michael Mullins, 56, died from his injuries after being hit by a black Volvo XC90 on Paddock Lane, Lymm, at around 6.10pm on 20 April. We are continuing to support his family at this time.
We have since secured the charge of Simon Richardson (16/05/1991), of no fixed abode, for murder, manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance. He remains on remand.
As officers continue with their work, they are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident – or has any dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage – to please come forward.
In particular, officers are keen to locate any footage from Dunham Road, Paddock Lane, Bent Lane, Mill Lane and Wet Gate Lane. Anyone who lives in these areas, or was passing through at the time of the incident, is asked to review any material they may have.
They may have seen something suspicious or believed they saw any or part of the incident – any information is appreciated as officers progress their investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This has been a fast-paced investigation over the last couple of weeks which has resulted in a man being charged.
“While comprehensive enquiries are still ongoing, we are now asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage from the locations mentioned, to please get in touch. Whether you saw something suspicious, caught something on a dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV – all of the information will be thoroughly reviewed and assessed.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact us on 101, or via the LiveChat function on our website, quoting log 2771 of 20/04/26.
