Shortly before 11.15am on Friday 12 July 2019, a man in his 20s was shot near to the Outline Health & Fitness Centre on Lever Street.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

The shooting is believed to be linked to an incident on Tuesday 23 July 2019, in which an improvised explosive device was thrown into a BMW on Castle Street in Bolton.
This morning, Wednesday 7 August 2019, detectives investigating these incidents arrested two men. A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to cause an explosion likely to injury and damage, and conspiracy to commit arson.
They remain in custody for questioning.
