At around 1.30am on Thursday 26 December 2019, police were called to reports of suspicious circumstances on Turf Hill Road at the junction with Stiups Lane.
Initial enquiries have established that a man was assaulted by two men and was led into the back of an unknown car, before driving off on Turf Hill Road towards Broad Lane.
The victim is described as white, in his early 20’s, of medium build, under 6ft tall and was wearing a t-shirt and trousers.
One of the offenders is described as white, in his early 20’s, of medium build, less than 6 ft. tall and was wearing a t-shirt and trousers.
The second man is described as white, in his mid-20’s, of large build, over 6 ft. tall and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark trousers.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Kenny Blain, of GMP’s Oldham district, said: “Our enquiries are in the very early stages and we are keeping an open mind as to what has happened, but want to ensure that the man who was assaulted is safe and well.
“I would like to take this opportunity to appeal directly to anybody who was in the area at the time - if you saw or heard anything suspicious, please get in touch with us as soon as you possibly can.”
