Operation AVRO is our force-wide monthly blitz on local crime which runs in a different district each month.
We will bring you real-time updates including images and video as activity continues throughout the day.

Highlights
Stockport: 6 arrests, 1 from a drugs warrant.
Stockport: Cadet knife test purchase operation - three knife sales which resulted in all being reported to Trading Standards for prosecution.
Stockport traffic operation: 5 traffic offences, 1 arrest, 2 drugwipe - one being positive leading to an arrest, 1 search – positive for cannabis.
Oldham: Prolific offender arrested for assault in Oldham Town Centre.
Oldham: 3 juveniles arrested for violent disorder. All 3 bailed for further enquires.
Wigan: 2 robbery targets arrested.
Wigan: 6 stop searches carried out. 6 knives also recovered.
Tameside: Schools Engagement Officers and HM Prison Service provided a preventative input to primary school children.
Rochdale: Newbold tram stop with TFGM - 35 fines issued. 1 arrested for failing to provide details.
Rochdale: 4 arrested from warrants executed, drugs and weapons recovered, £3K discovered after breaking open a safe.
Bury: 3 Arrests made so far. Licensing checks and test purchasing carried out - Trading Standards and GMP Prevention Hub working together.
City of Manchester North: 3 arrests, 6 stop searches, 1k 'Bee in the Loop' leaflet drops and Trading Standards operation.
Bolton: Trinity Retail Park (Bolton Town Centre) - 19 people spoken to regarding parking in disabled/parent and child bays incorrectly. Checks on vehicles resulted in 3 traffic offence reports issued.
Bolton: One suspect stop searched and arrested for going equipped and theft. CCTV tracked back to a vehicle which had been searched and a large amount of suspected stolen goods were inside. Vehicle was seized.
