Operation AVRO - Salford #3
A new force-wide initiative - codenamed Operation AVRO - which will run each month in a different district.
We will bring you real-time updates including images and video as activity continues throughout the day.
- Total arrests now stand at 17 for the day of action across Salford.
- Meanwhile, we've been out with a neighbourhood policing team who have been on a hi-vis patrol in Eccles.
Officers executed another warrant at an address in Salford. Unfortunately, no arrests were made as the target suspect was not at the location, however, officers did find and recover two electric scooters that GMP believe may have been stolen.
Enquiries are ongoing and, if confirmed, officers will attempt to reunite the recovered items with legitimate owners once proceedings are concluded.
- So far we've seen 15 arrests as part of our crackdown on crime in Salford
- Officers have siezed suspected Class A drugs (white powder), Class B drugs (Cannabis), a quantity of orange tablets, phones, scales, debtors list and a quantity of cash.
- Officers have also siezed a Range Rover which was illegally using our roads, pictured here with Chief Superintendent Mark Dexter and Superintendent Gareth Parkin

GMP officers are at Holy Family Primary School, Salford this morning.
The officers are there with Paul McGovern MBE who is delivering his “Actions Have Consequences” input to the school children.
Fire officers are also present delivering a input around staying safe over summer.
A multi-agency briefing led by the District Commander for Salford Chief Superintendent Tony Creely has taken place ahead of our day of action for #OpAVRO.
Officers will be joined by our partner agencies throughout the day to tackle the issues that you said matter the most to you.
