Operation AVRO is our force-wide monthly blitz on local crime which runs in a different district each month.

At Ashton Police Station, our OCG team has successfully seized 48 bags of heroin and 35 bags of cocaine.
This is a significant blow to the drug trafficking network in the area and a great achievement for our officers.
Together, we continue to take the fight to the criminals and work to make our streets safer and healthier as part of our crackdown on crime #OpAVRO.
We are currently conducting a traffic operation in Tameside as part of Operation Avro. Our aim is to reduce road casualties, tackle anti-social driving and improve road safety for all of our road users.
We are using a range of tactics, including speed checks, vehicle inspections and other checks as we work to make our roads safer for everyone.
Earlier today, our officers joined a multi-agency public street briefing in Ashton-under-lyne town centre ahead of a day of proactive policing for #OpAVRO.
We informed the residents about our plans to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in the area, and officers will be available throughout the day to answer their questions and concerns.
Officers have successfully conducted a raid at a property in Audenshaw, where two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, failure to appear at court and possession of suspected counterfeit goods.

Officers have successfully dismantled a large cannabis farm in Hyde as part of #OpAvro. Specialist officers raided the premises and seized a large number of plants and equipment.

Last time #OpAVRO came to Tameside we saw some good results for our community with 36 arrests for a range of offences and a traffic operation that successfully targeted 30 traffic related offences.
