Operation AVRO - Rochdale
A new force-wide initiative - codenamed Operation AVRO - which will run each month in a different district.
We will bring you real-time updates including images and video as activity continues throughout the day.
#UPDATE | Between 8am and 11am this morning we engaged with 575 passengers using the #Rochdale Metrolink line, providing reassurance and helping people to travel safely. Officers have also issued 57 non-payment penalty tickets (£100 each). #OpAVRO #GMTravelSafe
45 people have been arrested for a series of offences including burglary, domestic abuse and drugs-related offences in the latest GMP #OpAVRO.
#OpAVRO is a new force-wide initiative which will run each month in a different district. Rochdale is holding the mantle for the force today, 28 April 2022.

School Engagement Officers lead an hour-long knife crime input at a high school in Rochdale. As part of the session, pupils learnt about the dangers and consequences of knife crime, joint enterprise and bystander theory and also took part in a group activity and a short Q&A session.
