A new force-wide initiative - codenamed Operation AVRO - which will run each month in a different district.
We will bring you real-time updates including images and video as activity continues throughout the day.
Our new community messaging system ‘Bee in the loop’ will allow you to choose what information you would like to know about including crime and incidents in your local area.
The system is also an invaluable investigative tool and that we can use to appeal for information or intelligence and help to solve crime.

Prison service's Paul McGovern has joined officers in an "Actions have consequences" workshop that is being delivered to pupils of Hazel Wood High School.
We have now completed 14 warrants and have 32 prisoners as part of #OpAVRO. This is from a total of 47 arrest attempts. Our custody suite in #Bury is full. The custody suite in #Bolton is nearly full, and further arrests will be taken to #Wigan. Updates to follow.
