While Christmas may be a joyful time for many, we know that sadly this is not always the case for victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Heightened family tensions, financial worries, and excessive drinking can lead to an increase in domestic abuse at this time of year, and we want you to know that support is available if you need it.
Specially trained officers will be working throughout the Christmas period. If you’re a victim of domestic abuse, we encourage you to come forward. You can do this by calling 999 in an emergency or 101.
If you would prefer not to speak about your experience over the phone, or are unable to, you can use our LiveChat service.
Advice and support can be found here: Advice about domestic abuse | Greater Manchester Police
If you’d rather not speak to the police, there are other organisations that can help you: Support organisations for victims of domestic violence | Greater Manchester Police
