Below is a summary of activity we've undertaken as part of the Safe4Summer campaign across Salford:
The Swinton neighbourhood policing team was at this year’s ‘Swinton & Pendlebury Network’ event alongside partner agencies, where they spoke to residents to understand issues in the area while also providing safety advice for the summer months ahead.
Neighbourhood officers were out on patrol around Salford Precinct speaking to communities as part of our Safe4Summer initiative.
They were joined by the Foundation 92 team and their converted bus, which is a mobile hub for young people full of activities including an air hockey table and PlayStation.
Thank you to everyone who has been engaging with our officers as we look to tackle the issues that matter to you.

With the summer holidays in full swing, PCSO Fitzgerald dropped by the Irlam and Cadishead Youth Centre to spend some time with the attendees.
From chatting about holiday plans to hopping on a bike and hitting the new bike track, it was all about building positive relationships, having fun, and showing that the police are here to support and engage with our young people.
Thanks to everyone at the youth centre for the warm welcome. We’re ‘wheelie’ looking forward to our next visit.

Alongside our partners HMRC and Trading Standards, we attended a premises on Friday 25 July following intelligence received from the public and whilst this was negative, officers were still able to speak with the owners to ensure they were adhering to regulations around these items.
If you have any concerns please continue to report to ourselves. Your reports help us to build our intelligence and tackle issues that matter to you.

Officers from Salford, alongside partners from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Salford City Council, came together at Salford Quays for a water safety demonstration as part of World Drowning Prevention Day 2025.
It was great to see so many children and adults taking part in the water safety activities, including elements of how to rescue a casualty.
Our officers were also on hand to support the community, patrolling around the area to provide community reassurance. There was also a live water rescue demonstration showing how firefighters save people from the water using a variety of tactics.
We will continue to work alongside our partners as part of our Safe4Summer campaign to build community relationships and reduce crime across our town centres.

Over the school summer holidays, the Little Hulton Neighbourhood Policing Team hosted a series of creative community events aimed at engaging local families and providing fun, hands-on activities for children.
These events took place at Ellesmere Shopping Centre in Walkden and Wharton and Cleggs Lane Church in Little Hulton—huge thanks to both venues for their support and hospitality.
Children had the opportunity to make and take home a variety of crafts, including police hats, badges, radios, bookmarks, and more. Officers were also present to share crime prevention tips and offer free bike marking services, all as part of our #Safe4Summer campaign to help keep our community safe.
As a special thank you, every child who participated received a free book to take home and enjoy.
