Below is a summary of activity we've undertaken as part of the Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action campaign across Oldham:
Monday marked the launch of Neighbourhood Policing Week, and officers and partners across Oldham are continuing to focus on high-visibility policing, tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and acting on community feedback.
Earlier this morning, neighbourhood officers visited the new market in Oldham town centre, where they engaged with local residents and businesses, followed by patrols around the Spindles.
Back at Oldham Police Station, guide dogs in training Boris and Garnett paid a special visit to help with socialising as part of Guide Dogs training. The four-legged friends got a chance to meet officers, see and hear the sirens on in the car park and get plenty of treats from officers and staff to aid them on their journey.
Activity will continue alongside our usual commitment to making Oldham a better place to live, work and visit.
PCSO Mike Lowther helped save a man's life while out on patrol in Saddleworth.
PCSO Lowther's actions have been described as 'highly commendable' as he safeguarded the man.
His quick-thinking was yet another example of the work our neighbourhood policing teams do day in, day out across Greater Manchester.
Officers and PCSOs working in neighbourhood teams are often the first point of contact for local people, building trust, preventing crime and dealing with the issues that matter most to the communities they serve, including anti-social behaviour.
We have around 1,400 neighbourhood officers working across 38 teams – they are based in all 10 of our districts.
Our Oldham neighbourhood officers are continuing to act on the issues you are telling us about in Oldham.
Whether it’s visible patrols, safeguarding vulnerable people, tackling crime head-on, or working with partners to solve long-term problems, our officers are making a real difference in their communities.

Officers from the Oldham Central Neighbourhood Policing Team have been running a traffic initiative on Lees Road as part of Op Considerate.
The team worked in partnership with the Motor Insurance Bureau and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
Several penalty tickets were issued for various offences ranging from mobile phone use, defective number plates, and having no insurance.
Our officers will continue to be out and about across Oldham, not just during Neighbourhood Policing Week, but all year round.
Following community concerns around the nuisance use of off-road and e-bikes in residential areas, PC Alistair Collier from Oldham district’s Neighbourhood Policing Team 3 (NPT) was out on proactive patrols in the Moorside and Sholver areas of Oldham when he sighted a male riding an e-bike in an anti-social manner.
The e-bike was seized after it was found to have no insurance and the rider did not have a license.
