With a new leadership team, we’re making continued investment in our Force Contact Centre to enable us to make a difference right from the first contact people have with us.
As a result, we’ve reduced average 999 answer times to just seven seconds from a 2021 average of one minute 22 seconds.
That’s put us in the top ten of force performance for 999 answer times and eighth nationally in terms of the percentage of calls answered in under ten seconds – the best of any large metropolitan force.
We’ve also placed a fresh focus on crime recording practices with the result that we’re compliant with national crime recording standards. As a force, we now record an average of 30,500 crimes per month, highlighting the increasing trust placed in us by victims of crime.
Our Force Contact Centre is the engine room of GMP and we’re delighted with the work being done to enable us to continue to be a powerful force for good.
