From 22 September 2022 our fingerprints team are relocating and we are fully booked until then, but we will reopen on 3 October 2022.
If you require an appointment during this time, please contact another police service to see if they can offer you an appointment.
How to make an appointment (from 3 October 2022)
Once we reopen you will be able to book an appointment online.
Appointments are about 30 minutes long and are available at 10am or 10:30am, Monday to Friday.
Bookings are strictly by appointment only.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring with you:
a valid passport, or
a full photo driving licence
If your passport is being held by the Home Office, we can accept a photocopy of your passport ID page together with an officially stamped letter. You can also request for your passport to be released from the Home Office for 24 hours.
We usually provide the fingerprint forms you need, however certain countries may require their own specific forms. If you need clearance for:
You may need to get these forms before your visit and give them to the Fingerprints Office.
Women wanting clearance for Iran must provide photographs that show:
their head covered
their face uncovered
Iranian authorities won’t accept anything else.
How much does it cost?
One set of fingerprints: £97.32. Each additional set/thumb print only: £48.60.
Prices include VAT.
The following countries are exempt from paying VAT:
St Vincent & the Grenadines
United Arab Emirates
For these countries one set of fingerprints costs £81.10 and £40.50 for each additional set/thumb print only.
