Neighbourhood Policing Week is a celebration of the proactive policing taking place in neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester. We have made it our priority to reduce and prevent the crimes that matter most to our communities and are working tirelessly to reduce crime across the region. Neighbourhood crime has fallen in every single borough, and our proactive crime-fighting has meant that since 2021, we have reduced burglary by a third and vehicle crime by a quarter and are bringing to justice 100 shoplifters a week. Neighbourhood officers work closely with partners to act on community information to bring down crime and prevent further harm. This includes drug dealing, anti-social behaviour, and the use of e-bikes in our towns and cities. In 2023, we guaranteed that every district ward has a named local police officer that residents can contact.
