Preventing Crime & protecting the public

Your Airport Neighbourhood Team are committed to providing:
- High visibility patrolling on foot & vehicle in terminals and Airport footprint.
- Using powers of stop search and vehicle stops where appropriate and lawful.
- Active patrolling of vulnerable locations dependant on threat levels – Currently Substantial.
- Project Servator deployments by specially trained Airport officers to disrupt criminal activity, including terrorism, whilst providing a reassuring presence for visitors and staff at the Airport.

Your local Airport Neighbourhood Team are committed to providing:
- Active patrolling and sweeps of Terminals 1, 2 & 3 and Ground Transport Interchange.
- Partnership working to support vulnerable people located and signposting to support agencies.
-Positive action taken where appropriate for any criminal behaviour reported.
- Effective use of Manchester Airport Byelaws 2024 to tackle Anti-Social behaviour and to disrupt transient criminality.

Our main ongoing priority relates to the homeless community using Manchester Airport as a safe haven.

A full protocol has been agreed in that we will be issuing Directions To Leave (under Manchester Airport byelaws) to anyone sleeping rough within the Airport footprint. We will of course be liaising with outreach teams, Council and Chaplaincy in order to assist and support those who need it whilst ensuring the safe running of the airport and staff & passengers feel safe to go about their daily business
