Bolton

The district of Bolton lies to the northwest of the Manchester metropolitan area and rises in the north of the Pennine foothills. It is a large area covering Blackrod, Farnworth, Horwich, Kearsley, Westhoughton and part of the West Pennine Moors. It covers around 20 square miles and has a population of around 285,400 people. It borders the districts of Bury, Salford and Wigan.
