Man arrested following pursuit of a stolen vehicle from Prestwich
12:00 19/06/2026Overnight, officers from our Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) arrested a man in his 20s after he led them on a pursuit which ended in West Yorkshire in a stole vehicle that was taken from Prestwich in Bury the night before.

Your local officers will be conducting organised operational enforcement along with assistance by specialist roads policing officers in the area and dealing with motorists who commit any of the FATAL 5 offences (Speeding, Driving Whilst Distracted, No Seatbelt, driving whilst drunk and driving whilst under the influence of drugs).

The neighbourhood policing team has identified the use of off-road bikes as a priority due to ongoing concerns from residents regarding anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance, dangerous riding, and risks to public safety. The unlawful use of off-road bikes can cause significant disruption to local communities, damage public spaces, and place both riders and members of the public at risk.
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood Team are working hard to identify those responsible and bring them to justice through proactive policing we will conduct high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations where off-road bike activity has been reported.
