Officers have worked closely with the council and installed Section 59 warning signs in many local authority and privately owned open-space car parks. These signs act as a deterrent to individuals using vehicles in these areas outside of working hours, as any anti-social use can result in the seizure of the vehicle.
In addition, officers are conducting high-visibility patrols, particularly during late evenings, to tackle anti-social behaviour and reassure the community. Local officers will be gathering intelligence on criminal activity and will utilise stop-and-search powers to detect offences, including knife crime and drug dealing. Anyone found in possession of controlled drugs and/or weapons will be arrested, and those committing anti-social vehicular offences will have their vehicles seized.
