Welcome to your Stockport Central Neighbourhood Policing Pages
I am Police Inspector Jason Holmwood and have ownership of the Neighbourhood Policing Teams for Stockport Town Centre, Shaw Heath, Manor, Woodbank, Brinnington, Lancashire Hill, Edgeley, Alexandra Park, Cheadle Heath, Adswood and Bridgehall.
I joined Great Manchester Police in 2021 after starting my policing career with Avon and Somerset Police in 2009; based predominantly in Bristol. I have worked a variety of front-line uniformed roles and always enjoyed operational policing. I took over the Central Neighbourhood Inspector in October 2024 and am passionate about effective partnership working to ensure long term problem solving to best support our communities. I have worked in every rank as a Neighbourhood Beat officer starting as a local Police Community Support Officer to taking on this challenging and rewarding role today.
My team and I work hard to understand the priorities and concerns of you our community and its really important that we work closely together to solve these issues. On these pages you will find the details for your local officers working in your area; please do reach out to them.
You can find out about what the police in your area are doing on our local social media pages and by signing up to Bee in the Loop at www.beeintheloop.co.uk.
I would encourage you to come to your local Police and Communities Together Meeting and again raise any issues directly with your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 25 years and currently work as the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Brinnington. My role is to work closely with residents, businesses, partner agencies and community groups to address local concerns, improve community safety and build public confidence in neighbourhood policing. My current focus includes tackling anti-social behaviour, reducing crime, supporting vulnerable members of the community and developing long-term solutions to issues affecting local residents. I am also a member of the Brinnington Pride in Place Board, helping to ensure local voices are heard and contributing to positive improvements across the area.
I am PC 14514 Barker and have been in the Brinnington Neighbourhood Team since October 2025.
