Welcome to your Stockport Central Neighbourhood Policing Pages

I am Police Inspector Jason Holmwood and have ownership of the Neighbourhood Policing Teams for Stockport Town Centre, Shaw Heath, Manor, Woodbank, Brinnington, Lancashire Hill, Edgeley, Alexandra Park, Cheadle Heath, Adswood and Bridgehall.

I joined Great Manchester Police in 2021 after starting my policing career with Avon and Somerset Police in 2009; based predominantly in Bristol. I have worked a variety of front-line uniformed roles and always enjoyed operational policing. I took over the Central Neighbourhood Inspector in October 2024 and am passionate about effective partnership working to ensure long term problem solving to best support our communities. I have worked in every rank as a Neighbourhood Beat officer starting as a local Police Community Support Officer to taking on this challenging and rewarding role today.

My team and I work hard to understand the priorities and concerns of you our community and its really important that we work closely together to solve these issues. On these pages you will find the details for your local officers working in your area; please do reach out to them.

You can find out about what the police in your area are doing on our local social media pages and by signing up to Bee in the Loop at www.beeintheloop.co.uk.

I would encourage you to come to your local Police and Communities Together Meeting and again raise any issues directly with your Neighbourhood Policing Team.

"I have proudly served as the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Edgeley, Adswood and Bridgehall for over five years, working closely with residents, businesses and community groups to tackle local issues and improve neighbourhoods.

With a strong background in public order policing, I bring extensive operational experience to the role, supporting both proactive crime reduction and community safety initiatives. Throughout my service, I have remained committed to building trust and positive relationships within the communities I serve, ensuring local concerns are listened to and acted upon.

Partnership working is at the heart of neighbourhood policing. I work closely with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders, including Youth Services, Stockport Council, Stockport County Community Trust, housing associations, schools, voluntary groups and many other key members of the community. By working together, we develop long-term solutions to issues such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention, safeguarding and community cohesion.

I am passionate about creating safer, stronger communities and believe that effective policing is built on visibility, engagement and collaboration. My focus remains on addressing the issues that matter most to local people while supporting partners to deliver positive outcomes for residents across Edgeley, Adswood and Bridgehall."

I am the Neighbourhood Police Sergeant for Bramhall and Cheadle, and I am proud to serve the communities that make these areas such great places to live and work.
Over the past ten years with Greater Manchester Police, I have worked in a variety of frontline roles, gaining experience in crime prevention, safeguarding, and community problem-solving. What I enjoy most about neighbourhood policing is building relationships with the people we serve and working together to address local concerns.

I lead a dedicated team of officers and PCSOs who are committed to being visible, approachable, and responsive. My aim is to ensure local voices are heard and that we continue working together to keep Bramhall and Cheadle safe and welcoming for everyone.

If you have a concern, an idea, or simply want to speak with your local neighbourhood team, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are here to listen and help
