Your Neighbourhood Policing Team
I am Amreek Singh, Inspector, posted to Stockport District, covering Marple and Hazel Grove. I have worked in GMP since November 2022 having transferred from the Metropolitan Police Service, where I worked a variety of roles where I worked my way through to Inspector. I have dedicated my service to every area including Response, Neighbourhood, Custody Sergeant, Pro-active crime squads and community engagement teams, working on youth engagement with the aim of reducing serious youth violence and improving trust and confidence.
I have a degree in Criminology and Cultural Studies (BSc Hons) and have studied in the United States of America. I feel privileged to hold the office of Constable and the responsibility for keeping so many people safe, improving trust and confidence with communities across Greater Manchester. I am very passionate about working with partners in making our communities safe and free of crime, proactively seeking out those that are involved in criminality and bringing these offenders to justice. So far, the role has been extremely rewarding, especially leading a dedicated team of committed police officers and staff, working with our community, partners and stakeholders.
My door is always open, as is it for all my teams and we will continue to work with you all to solve the issues in our community.

Drug Dealing and associated Anti-social behaviour
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood officers will be targeting reports of ASB and drugs offences in the area. We will take robust action against those involved in criminality working alongside our partners.

Theft of Motorcycles and associated anti-social behaviour
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood officers will be working in partnership to reduce theft of vehicles and prevent anti-social riding of vehicles. We will be visible in the area and taking positive action.

Your local neighbourhood officers will be providing dedicated patrols to deter offending and providing crime prevention advice to victims of crime. Working alongside the Neighbourhood Crime Team we will be hunting down and bringing offenders of burglary to justice.
