Welcome to your Stockport Central Neighbourhood Policing Pages

I am Police Inspector Jason Holmwood and have ownership of the Neighbourhood Policing Teams for Stockport Town Centre, Shaw Heath, Manor, Woodbank, Brinnington, Lancashire Hill, Edgeley, Alexandra Park, Cheadle Heath, Adswood and Bridgehall.

I joined Great Manchester Police in 2021 after starting my policing career with Avon and Somerset Police in 2009; based predominantly in Bristol. I have worked a variety of front-line uniformed roles and always enjoyed operational policing. I took over the Central Neighbourhood Inspector in October 2024 and am passionate about effective partnership working to ensure long term problem solving to best support our communities. I have worked in every rank as a Neighbourhood Beat officer starting as a local Police Community Support Officer to taking on this challenging and rewarding role today.

My team and I work hard to understand the priorities and concerns of you our community and its really important that we work closely together to solve these issues. On these pages you will find the details for your local officers working in your area; please do reach out to them.

You can find out about what the police in your area are doing on our local social media pages and by signing up to Bee in the Loop at www.beeintheloop.co.uk.

I would encourage you to come to your local Police and Communities Together Meeting and again raise any issues directly with your Neighbourhood Policing Team.

"I am PS James Senior, responsible for leading the Central Neighbourhood Team based in Stockport Town Centre. Having served with Greater Manchester Police for 24 years, I have dedicated my career to protecting communities, building trust, and supporting those who need us most.

As a leader, I firmly believe that policing is about people. Whether that is supporting victims, working alongside our partner agencies, engaging with local businesses, or developing and mentoring officers and staff within my team, my priority is always to ensure that we deliver a service that is professional, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of our community.

I am passionate about neighbourhood policing and the positive impact it can have on people's lives. I care deeply about the communities we serve and understand the importance of being visible, approachable, and accountable. Through strong leadership, teamwork, and genuine engagement, I strive to ensure that the Central Neighbourhood Team remains focused on addressing local concerns, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, and making Stockport Town Centre a safer place for everyone.

I am proud to lead a committed team of officers who share these values and who work tirelessly every day to build confidence in policing and deliver the highest standards of service to the public."

I am a Neighbourhood Police Officer for Stockport Town Centre where I have been based since I joined Greater Manchester Police in 2020. I work closely with local communities, partner agencies and stakeholders to address issues that matter most to residents and businesses in the Town Centre.
My role focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour, neighbourhood crime and community concerns, whilst building positive relationships with local people, businesses and partner organisations. I am committed to problem-solving and working proactively to prevent crime, safeguard vulnerable individuals and improve community safety.
I encourage residents to engage with their local neighbourhood team regarding any issues affecting their area.

I am PCSO 63302 Peter Edge and have been doing my role for 21 years covering Stockport town centre. I work closely with partner agencies and I work hard to build relationships with the homeless community. I also work closely with youths in a bid to tackle ASB. I am committed to making their area a safer place for people to live and visit.
