Beggars approaching members of the public at Asda and Lidl in Astley Bridge.

Your local officers will be engaging with the beggars in the Astley Bridge area, specifically those around the Asda and Lidl supermarkets. We will be identifying them and working with partner agencies, such as Bolton Councils Rough Sleeping team and ACHIEVE to ensure all relevant support is in place/offered. Where necessary, beggars will be prosecuted under the Vagrancy Act.

Your local officers will be conducting speed enforcement in the area and dealing with motorists who exceed the limit. They will also be seizing uninsured vehicles and arresting anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We are also working with local schools to make the roads safer around schools.
