Your Neighbourhood Policing Team
I am Sergeant Jess Prudence and I manage Bolton Town Centre.
I joined Greater Manchester Police in 2018, and I have been a sergeant since 2021. I have worked on the Bolton district for the entirety of my service.
I moved to the Neighbourhood Policing Team in January 2024, previously managing Farnworth, Kearsley and Little Lever in addition to the Town Centre. I am passionate about my role and truly wish to make a difference to the local communities I police.
My team is full of dedicated and experienced officers who share the same passion for problem solving as I do, and we are all keen to work with our local partners to improve the quality of life for our residents. I foster a proactive approach to policing within my team, identifying offenders early on and being robust in their management, ensuring we work collaboratively with our partners to achieve the best outcome for all.

Anti Social Behaviour
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood team will be targeting reports of ASB across the town centre. There are dedicated officers for this during peak times on evenings and weekends. We will continue to remain visible in this area whilst working alongside our partners to ensure referrals and diversionary work is completed with these individuals at an early stage.

Retail Crime
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood officers will be targeting shoplifting offences and other retail crime in the town centre through high visibility policing. We will prioritise offences against retail workers and take action against offenders. We will be working closely with the Central Bolton Partnership to provide crime prevention advice and obtain Criminal Behaviour Orders for prolific offenders - giving local retailers and police more robust powers to tackle shoplifting.

Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood officers will be working together to reduce and prevent ongoing begging. They will be looking to take positive action around anyone who is causing a nuisance or repeatedly offending in the area, and signposting to our partner agencies where relevant welfare needs require addressing.
