Great Lever

I have served with Greater Manchester Police for over 22 years and currently work as the Inspector on the South Neighbourhood Team. Prior to this current posting I have worked across a number of specialist departments within GMP and most recently I was the Neighbourhood Inspector for the West area of Bolton. My role is to manage and oversee the Performance of the four teams within the South Neighbourhood Team, driving priorities that are set from force command as well as those issues raised locally by residents and other members of the Community. Priorities for the Neighbourhood Team will change regularly due to operational demand and events though there will always be an ongoing focus on Road safety and Enforcement / Acquisitive crime / Drug Dealing and Anti- Social Behaviour as these are constant issues that are raised by the community and affect the most people. I will attend neighbourhood engagement events (PACT Meetings) and work with local partners particularly those from the Council and Housing providers as well as local Councillors to tackle the issues that matter most to residents. I would encourage members of the community to attend local meetings and share their concerns so that together we can help make our neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.

I am PS Daniel Richards. I joined GMP in May 2002 and have always worked in a front line capacity. I worked in Manchester City Centre for several years before moving to the Bolton Division in 2014. Coming from Bolton, I am genuinely proud to serve in my home town.
I am particularly familiar with the Farnworth and Great Lever areas as this is where I grew up and went to school. It is a privilege to be the Sergeant here as it means I am able to give something back to the area that has given me so much growing up.

I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 13 years and currently work as a Police Community Support Officer for Great Lever which I have been a part of since I’ve joined GMP. My role is to work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address local concerns and improve community safety. I also attend local schools to provide talks about safety, career aspirations and other various topics.
My current focus in Great Lever includes tackling Anti-Social Behaviour, cracking down on Drug Activity and supporting long-term problem solving within the community. I regularly attend neighbourhood engagement events and work with local partners to tackle the issues that matter most to residents.

Let me introduce myself
My Name is Mark and I have been a PCSO with GMP since the introduction of the role in late 2002
I have covered areas across the whole of Bolton in my time within the neighbourhood teams
I have also worked on various teams such as Challenger, Place based and Prevention.
In all my varied postings I have strived to deliver generational change
Raising awareness across communities of what they can do to keep themselves safe.
Currently based within the Bolton South Neighbourhood Team covering Highfield, Great Lever, Flower Estate and Bolton Hospital.
