Your Neighbourhood Policing Team
I am Inspector Will Coleman and I manage the West Geographical area of Bolton, with responsibility for Horwich & Blackrod, Westhoughton, Heaton and Lostock.
I joined Greater Manchester Police in 2009 and have worked on the Bolton District for the entirety of my service. In 2021 I was promoted to Sergeant and in 2025 to Inspector.
I moved to the Neighbourhood team in July 2026 having previously worked on the district’s response and tasking teams.
I’m incredibly proud to be a Police Officer and to have reached the rank of Inspector. I care passionately about Policing and the positive impact my officers can make to the communities we are responsible for.
My team is full of dedicated and really experienced officers at Sergeant, Constable and PCSO levels. The team is really well supported by our local partners and our aim is to improve the quality of life for residents by problem solving and responding to concerns and issues raised.
My team will be visible on their beats, identifying and robustly dealing with suspects through pro-active use of police powers to reduce offending, anti-social behaviour and achieving positive outcomes for victims and the wider community.
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 19 years and currently work as the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Horwich, Blackrod, Lostock and Ladybridge. I have worked in neighbourhood policing for almost 10 years starting as a PCSO in south Manchester then as a Neighbourhood Beat Officer and now as a supervisor, giving me a strong understanding of the issues that matter most to local communities.
My role focuses on tackling anti-social behaviour, addressing repeat demand and working with residents, businesses and partner agencies to improve community safety and quality of life. I am committed to problem-solving and long-term solutions that make a positive difference to the people we serve.

I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 41 years and currently work as a Neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer for Bolton West - Horwich. My role is to work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address local concerns and improve community safety.
My current focus includes tackling Anti- Social Behaviour in and around the Middlebrook area, and supporting long-term problem solving within the community. I regularly attend neighbourhood engagement events and work with local partners to tackle the issues that matter most to residents. I conduct regular Drop in Police Surgeries that are accessible to our residents.

Drug Driving / Driving Standards / Speeding
Action taken:
There will be a focus on vehicles involved in ASB and other offences including drink / drug driving and speeding. This is particularly prevalent around arterial routes into Horwich such as Chorley Old Road. During December the West Neighbourhood Team have seized 13 vehicles under S165 of the Road Traffic Act for offences such as driving without a licence / insurance. There will be increased focus on mounting traffic operations including working alongside dedicated Traffic Officers from the Specialist Operations Branch.

Traffic Issues on BWFC Matchdays
Action taken:
The team have received an increased number of complaints from residents regards traffic / parking issues on the residential estates around the Tough sheet Stadium on BWFC matchdays. Officers will pro-actively patrol these areas and take enforcement action as required where offences are committed. 9 Traffic Offence Reports (TOR’s) were issued in the recent home fixture for BWFC against Leyton Orient. Supporters attending BWFC fixtures are reminded to park in a considerate manner and be mindful of residents in the areas. The Police will continue to work with BWFC and the residents association around this issue .
