Officers investigating the ongoing moorland fires at Dovestones Reservoir which began on Saturday 11 July 2026, have made two further arrests.
Officers from our Oldham Neighbourhood Team executed two warrants yesterday morning (11/07/2026) in relation to ongoing anti-social use of e-bikes and Surron bikes, particularly in the St Mary's area.
Emergency services responded to an incident at Dovestone Reservoir, Oldham at around 7pm yesterday evening (10/07/26).
Overnight, officers from our Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) arrested a man in his 20s after he led them on a pursuit which ended in West Yorkshire in a stole vehicle that was taken from Prestwich in Bury the night before.
Our Oldham neighbourhood officers are continuing to act on the issues you are telling us about in Oldham.
The town centre Neighbourhood team are committed to robust policing of Oldham Town centre, in particular dealing with offences of shoplifting in all our retail premises, and preventing the theft from person offences such as pickpockets. We are also dedicated to keeping people safe during the night time economy.

Numerous arrests & prosecutions. Over the past 12 months the Town Centre team have arrested over 300 suspects for a variety of offences. The team have one of the highest number of criminal behaviour orders in the Force. There are currently 33 live criminal behaviour orders in place with several more in the process of being applied for.

Your local neighbourhood officers will be targeting reports of ASB in the area. There are dedicated officers for this during peak times. We will continue to remain visible in the area working alongside partner agencies.

Your local neighbourhood team will be targeting reports of Anti-social behaviour across the Town Centre area. There are dedicated officers for this during peak times on evenings and weekends. We will continue to remain visible in this area whilst working with our partners to ensure referrals and diversionary work is completed with these individuals at an early stage. The team have been issuing fixed penalty notices for street drinking, breaching the town centre PSPO and have been issuing Community Protection Warnings for anti social behaviour such as aggressive begging.
