I am Inspector Kat Murray, and I have ownership of the neighbourhood policing for Alt, Holts, Hathershaw, Alexandra, Glodwick, St Mary’s, Oldham town centre, Westwood and Coldhurst.
I joined Greater Manchester Police over 20years ago, starting as a PCSO in Oldham. After 2years I joined as a Police officer, also based at Oldham. I have remained here ever since. I class Oldham as my second home.

I am extremely passionate about making Oldham a safe place to live, work and visit as is my team.

We are aware of the issues each community is facing and are working hard with our partners to resolve these issues. It is just as important to us as it is to you. However, we can’t do this alone. We have launched a service called Bee in the loop, which allows you to contact your local officer directly about the issues that are impacting you the most.

PS Graham Craven
Neighbourhood Sgt – Oldham town centre

As the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Oldham Town Centre, I bring 25 years of policing experience with Greater Manchester Police to supporting and protecting the local community.
My team and I work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address the issues that matter most, with a particular focus on retail crime, antisocial behaviour and violent crime.

Through partnership working and evidence-led problem solving, we aim to deliver lasting improvements that enhance safety and confidence within the town centre.
I am passionate about community engagement and believe that local knowledge plays a crucial role in effective policing. By encouraging open dialogue and active participation from residents and businesses, we can work together to build a safer and stronger Oldham for all who live, work and visit here.

PC Ben Griffin
Neighbourhood Officer – Oldham Town Centre
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 23 years and currently work as one of the Neighbourhood Officers for Oldham Town Centre. My role involves working closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other issues affecting the local community.
My priorities include reducing retail crime, addressing anti-social behaviour and improving public confidence through visible and proactive neighbourhood policing. I regularly attend community meetings and engagement events to listen to local concerns, identify emerging issues and work with partners to develop effective solutions.
I am passionate about community policing and believe strong relationships and collaborative working are key to creating safer neighbourhoods. My aim is to help make Oldham Town Centre a safer, more welcoming place to live, work and visit.

Neighbourhood Officer – Oldham Town Centre
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for three years and currently work as a Neighbourhood Officer covering Oldham Town Centre. My role involves working closely with residents, businesses, community groups, and partner agencies to address local concerns, reduce crime, and improve public safety.
My current priorities include tackling anti-social behaviour, addressing street begging, and reducing issues linked to substance misuse within the Town Centre. I am committed to long-term problem solving and work proactively with partners to deliver sustainable solutions that have a positive impact on the community.
I regularly attend community engagement events and encourage residents to share their concerns, ideas, and feedback. By working together, we can help ensure Oldham remains a safe, welcoming and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Through visible patrols, community engagement, intelligence gathering, and partnership working, I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and thriving environment while maintaining public confidence in policing and ensuring the needs of the local community remain at the heart of our approach.

I am committed to building positive and lasting relationships with residents, businesses, local organisations, and partner agencies to better understand the issues affecting our community. Through regular engagement events, public meetings, school visits, foot patrols, and partnership initiatives, I work to ensure that local voices are heard and that policing priorities reflect the needs and concerns of those we serve. By maintaining an accessible and visible presence, I aim to foster trust, encourage collaboration, and empower communities to play an active role in creating a safer and more inclusive town centre for everyone.

I am PC Stuart Howson, a Neighbourhood Beat Officer serving the Oldham Town Centre area. With 18 years of policing service, I am committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local residents, businesses, and visitors.
My role involves addressing community concerns, working with partner agencies, preventing crime and anti-social behaviour, and helping to make Oldham Town Centre a safer place for everyone. I believe in being visible, approachable, and responsive, building strong relationships with the community through regular engagement and problem-solving. My aim is to support local people and improve the quality of life across the neighbourhood.

PCSO Norman DODD
Neighbourhood Officer – Oldham Town Centre
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 23 years. For the majority of my service, I worked as a PCSO Beat Officer in Coldhurst, building strong relationships with residents, community groups and partner agencies. For the past two years, I have been based in Oldham Town Centre as a Neighbourhood Officer.
My role involves working closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address local concerns, improve community safety and provide a visible and approachable neighbourhood policing presence.
My current priorities include tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB), addressing wider community concerns and supporting long-term problem solving. I regularly attend neighbourhood meetings and engagement events, working alongside local partners to identify and tackle the issues that matter most to the community.
I encourage residents and businesses to attend local meetings, speak with their neighbourhood policing team and share their concerns. By working together, we can help make Oldham Town Centre a safer and more welcoming place to live, work and visit.
