Inspector Daniel Welch has dedicated over 23 years to frontline policing, with a career rooted in community-focused work and operational leadership. He began his service in Thames Valley Police, transferring to Greater Manchester Police in 2007.
Inspector Welch has gained experience in response, neighbourhood policing, CID, proactive and covert teams and later in prevention via problem solving, where he developed a strong understanding of local crime patterns and community needs.
His leadership journey continued with a promotion to Sergeant on a Wigan response team, Wigan Neighbourhood Team and a prisoner processing team at Bolton. He later moved to Salford, serving as a Response Sergeant, then Neighbourhood Inspector on two other council areas.
Inspector Welch now serves as the Neighbourhood Inspector for Salford Central, where he works closely with residents, businesses, and partner agencies to build safer, stronger communities. Inspector Welch is known for his approachable style, commitment to problem-solving, and passion for making a positive difference in the lives of those he serves.

Your local neighbourhood team will be targeting reports of ASB across the area. There are dedicated officers for this during peak times on evenings and weekends. We will continue to remain visible in this area whilst working alongside our partners to ensure referrals and diversionary work is completed with these individuals at an early stage

Drug Dealing

Your team are working hard to tackler drug dealing through high visibility and undercover patrols. You will see or hear of warrants being executed at target premises where we believe drug related activity is taking place, bring those responsible to justice. Anyone with information to share may do this via our ‘contacts’ in confidence or ANONYMOUSLY through Crimestoppers.
