My name is Matthew Harvey, and I have the privilege of serving as the Neighbourhood Inspector responsible for Altrincham, Sale, Hale, Hale Barns, Bowdon and Timperley.
Since joining Greater Manchester Police in 2008, I have dedicated my career to protecting the public and serving communities across a variety of policing roles. At the heart of my service has always been frontline policing; working alongside residents, responding to the issues that matter most, and striving to make our communities safer places to live, work and visit. Building strong relationships with the public remains central to everything I do, and it continues to be the driving force behind my approach to policing.
My current priorities include tackling burglary, anti-social behaviour, Shoplifting, drug-related crime and knife crime. These are issues that have a significant impact on individuals, families and neighbourhoods, and my officers and staff remain committed to addressing them proactively. Through targeted enforcement, problem-solving initiatives and partnership working, we are determined to prevent crime, protect vulnerable people and ensure that offenders are brought to justice.
Community engagement is a fundamental part of neighbourhood policing. I regularly attend local meetings, engagement events and partnership forums to better understand the concerns of residents and ensure that policing activity reflects the needs of our communities. Effective communication is essential, which is why I also provide regular updates through the Trafford Police Facebook page and Bee in the Loop, our community messaging platform that enables us to share information, crime prevention advice and important local updates directly with residents. I would encourage everyone to sign up at www.beeintheloop.co.uk to stay informed and help shape local policing priorities.
I firmly believe that policing is most effective when it is carried out in partnership with the community. It is not something we do to a community, but something we do with a community. My door is always open, as are the doors of the officers and staff who serve across Trafford South. We value your feedback, your experiences and your ideas, and we are committed to listening and responding to the issues that matter most to you.
Together, by working in partnership, we can continue to make Trafford a safer place and ensure that our communities remain places where people can live, work and visit with confidence and pride.
I have served with Greater Manchester Police since 2023 and currently work as the neighbourhood officer in South Trafford. My role is to work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address local concerns and improve community safety.
My current focus includes anti-social behaviour, retail theft and supporting long-term problem solving within the community. I regularly attend neighbourhood engagement events and work with local partners to tackle the issues that matter most to residents.
I encourage members of the community to attend local meetings and share their concerns so that together we can help make our neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 10 years and currently work as the neighbourhood officer for Sale Town Centre. My role involves working with residents, local businesses and partner agencies to address crime, anti-social behaviour and other issues affecting the local community.
My current priorities include tackling retail crime, reducing anti-social behaviour and improving community confidence through visible neighbourhood policing. I regularly attend engagement events and community meetings and work closely with partner organisations to identify and resolve local issues.
I encourage residents to speak with me at local events and share any concerns so we can work together to improve the area.
