Anti-Social Behaviour and Protecting Our Green Spaces
We are aware of ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour within the Water Park and surrounding areas, and recognise the impact this can have on local residents, visitors, and those using the area for recreation, including anglers.
In response, we are working closely with partner agencies to increase high-visibility patrols and provide a coordinated approach to addressing concerns and preventing further escalation. Engagement remains a key part of our response, with partners continuing to work directly with young people to educate, divert, and support them away from anti-social behaviour.
As we move into the colder months, we are also focused on protecting the Water Park and surrounding open spaces, ensuring they remain safe and accessible for legitimate users. This includes supporting the local angling community, addressing environmental concerns, preventing damage to facilities, and providing reassurance to those visiting the area.
Through a combination of enforcement, engagement, and partnership working, we aim to reduce anti-social behaviour, safeguard our local environment, and ensure the Water Park remains a welcoming and enjoyable location for residents, anglers, and visitors throughout the year.

Speeding and Road Traffic Offences
Reducing speeding and tackling road traffic offences remains a key priority for the Orrell area. Concerns raised by residents regularly highlight the impact that excessive speed, dangerous driving and anti-social use of vehicles can have on the safety of our communities.
Our Neighbourhood Policing Team works proactively with specialist roads policing officers and partner agencies to identify problem locations, target offenders and improve road safety. Through a combination of enforcement, education and engagement, we seek to deter dangerous driving behaviours and reduce the risk of collisions and injury on our roads.
High-visibility patrols are conducted at locations identified through community intelligence, collision data and resident concerns. Officers will take positive action against drivers committing offences such as speeding, using mobile phones while driving, failing to wear seatbelts, careless driving and illegal vehicle use.
We continue to support and participate in targeted road safety operations, utilising speed enforcement equipment and conducting vehicle checks where appropriate. Information provided by local residents is invaluable in helping us identify areas of concern and direct our resources effectively.
Results from enforcement activity and road safety initiatives will be shared through Bee in the Loop and our social media channels to keep the public updated on the action being taken.
Our priority is to improve road safety, reduce the number of road traffic offences, and address the concerns of those living, working and travelling through the Orrell community
