Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is a group of local police officers and staff dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of police officers and a dedicated Police Community Support Officer (PCSO). These are supported by additional officers and staff from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for your area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on the basics: to fight, prevent and reduce crime, whilst keeping people safe and caring for victims.
If you want to receive regular updates about what we're doing in your area, want to contact us easily with your feedback, or receive alerts about incidents, you can sign up to our community alerts system. You'll receive emails or text messages about the issues you tell us you want to know about.
Our key priorities are to make you feel safe within the areas you live by focussing on the following four themes; reducing Burglary, tackling Anti-Social Behaviour, dealing robustly with drug use and supply, and to promote and enforce safety on our roads.

Vehicle Offences and Road Safety - Winstanley
Improving road safety and tackling vehicle-related offences remains a key priority within the Winstanley area. We recognise the concerns raised by residents regarding speeding, dangerous driving, anti-social vehicle use, and other road traffic offences that can place members of the community at risk.
Our Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with Roads Policing officers, Wigan Council and partner agencies to identify problem locations and take action against those who disregard road safety laws. Through a combination of enforcement, education and community engagement, we aim to make Winstanley's roads safer for all users.
We will continue to conduct high-visibility patrols and targeted operations in areas identified through community feedback, collision data and local intelligence. Officers will take positive action against drivers committing offences such as speeding, careless or dangerous driving, driving whilst using a mobile phone, failing to wear a seatbelt, uninsured driving and other vehicle-related criminality.
Where appropriate, we will utilise speed enforcement initiatives, vehicle stop checks and partnership-led road safety campaigns to deter offending and promote responsible driving behaviour. We are also committed to addressing concerns relating to nuisance vehicles and anti-social driving that impacts residents and local communities.
Information provided by the public remains vital in helping us identify emerging issues and direct resources where they are most needed. We encourage residents to continue reporting concerns so that effective action can be taken.
Through proactive enforcement, community engagement and partnership working, our priority is to reduce road traffic offences, improve road safety, and ensure Winstanley remains a safe place to live, work and travel.

Retail Crime - Winstanley
Tackling retail crime remains a key priority within the Winstanley area. We are committed to investigating all reports of shop theft and retail-related offending where viable lines of enquiry exist and will take positive action against those responsible.
Our Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with local retailers, store security teams, partner agencies and the wider community to identify offenders, gather evidence and target those responsible for causing the greatest harm to businesses. We recognise the impact that retail crime can have on retailers, employees and customers, and we are committed to reducing offending and protecting local businesses from repeat victimisation.
Through intelligence-led policing, targeted patrols and proactive engagement with retailers, we will focus our efforts on identifying prolific offenders and addressing emerging crime trends affecting shopping areas across Winstanley. By maintaining a visible presence and responding to community concerns, we aim to deter offending and improve confidence in local policing.
Where appropriate, we will seek Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) and make use of other available powers to disrupt and manage persistent offenders. We will continue to work with retailers to improve crime prevention measures, share intelligence and support investigations that lead to successful prosecutions.
Enforcement outcomes, arrests, charges and successful court results will be shared through Bee in the Loop and our social media platforms to keep residents and businesses informed of the action being taken.
Through partnership working, proactive enforcement and ongoing engagement with local businesses, our priority is to reduce retail crime, bring offenders to justice and ensure Winstanley remains a safe and welcoming place to live, work and shop.
