Update following arrests in relation to Piccadilly Gardens incident.
Greater Manchester Police ran a dedicated policing operation over the course of this weekend, 3rd - 4th August 2024, strategically working with partners and protest organisers to facilitate peaceful and lawful protests.
This morning (Monday 5 August 2024), officers from our Specialist Operations Branch supported by detectives from our Serious Crime Division arrested four people near Manchester Airport.
Officers are appealing for information following reports of a serious assault of a male late last night (3 August 2024).
