I have served with Greater Manchester Police for over 22 years and currently work as the Inspector on the South Neighbourhood Team. Prior to this current posting I have worked across a number of specialist departments within GMP and most recently I was the Neighbourhood Inspector for the West area of Bolton. My role is to manage and oversee the Performance of the four teams within the South Neighbourhood Team, driving priorities that are set from force command as well as those issues raised locally by residents and other members of the Community. Priorities for the Neighbourhood Team will change regularly due to operational demand and events though there will always be an ongoing focus on Road safety and Enforcement / Acquisitive crime / Drug Dealing and Anti- Social Behaviour as these are constant issues that are raised by the community and affect the most people. I will attend neighbourhood engagement events (PACT Meetings) and work with local partners particularly those from the Council and Housing providers as well as local Councillors to tackle the issues that matter most to residents. I would encourage members of the community to attend local meetings and share their concerns so that together we can help make our neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.

I am Mike Dixon, a Neighbourhood Sergeant for the Rumworth and Hulton areas of Bolton, with 20 years' policing experience built largely on a proactive background. I like to tackle issues head on, and I focus on early intervention and problem solving so that issues are dealt with before they escalate. I am committed to targeting the crime and anti-social behavior that matter most to local residents. I work with partners and the community to understand local priorities and help deliver results. My current priorities include tackling drug-related crime, addressing traffic issues, and supporting long-term problem-solving within the community. I regularly attend neighbourhood engagement events and work alongside local partners to address the issues that matter most to residents.

I have served with Greater Manchester Police for 17 years and currently work as the neighbourhood officer for Hulton/Rumworth. My role is to work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to address local concerns and improve community safety.
My current focus includes dealing with Anti social behaviour, such as Begging. Off Road Bikes , parking issues and shoplifting. I also work with partner agencies, such as Housing Associations to support them with their tenants, this includes problem solving within the community. I regularly attend neighbourhood engagement events and work with local partners to tackle the issues that matter most to residents.

I hold regular “Coffee With a Cop” drop ins and regularly attend meetings with the local councillors and partner agencies.

I joined GMP in 2009 and originally worked in Kearsley, before moving onto Great Lever were I worked for 15 years. For the past 18 months I have been working on the Hulton area.
I really enjoy working with the Community and Partnership teams to help to solve ASB issues. In the past this has resulted in the installation of double yellow lines to solve parking issues, fencing and window locks to protect vulnerable residents in sheltered housing and gating to prevent Off Road bikes causing annoyance to residents. I have also worked with residents to clean up their park areas, to reduce ASB. I have set up Neighbourhood Watch schemes and have regularly held Police Surgeries. By working closely with the Community over the years, I have received information, leading to Warrants for Cannabis Farms . I especially like dealing with Traffic issues, and I have seized Numerous Vehicles over the years. I really enjoy working on this area, and care about your issues ,and I will try to make it, a better and safer place to live.

I have been a police officer for nearly five years and have worked across several different roles. Before moving into neighbourhood policing, I spent time on both response and investigation teams. Prior to joining GMP, I worked for Lancashire Police in the Control Room, answering 999 calls and dispatching officers to incidents.

While I really enjoyed working on response, I wanted to get to know the people of Bolton better and make a more direct impact within the community. Neighbourhood policing has given me that opportunity. I enjoy being out in the community, speaking with residents, understanding their concerns, and working with partners to solve local problems. You will rarely find me sat in the station, as I much prefer being out on patrol and engaging with the local community.
