I am Inspector Kevin Wright and I cover Ramsbottom, North Manor, Tottington, Church, Elton, Moorside, Redvales and Bury town centre.
I joined Greater Manchester Police in June 1998 and during my service I have worked in a variety of uniform roles including on response, district robbery units and on the neighbourhood team.
I have always enjoyed front line policing, problem solving and partnership work. Neighbourhood policing is something I truly believe can have a positive impact on communities and working with partners and yourselves we can target and deal with those individuals who negatively impact your quality of life.
I understand the issues in our areas are burglary, anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and knife crime. My officers and staff are working day and night to ensure that we prevent these types of offences .On these pages you will find priorities in our area that we continue to work on. We will update these priorities with the action we have taken to remedy them.

You Said, We Did:
Over the past few months, the Town Centre and Outer Beat Team have been tackling ASB and crime in the East Bury area, utilising a number of tactics, including high-visibility hotspot policing and plain clothes patrols.
To tackle ASB, we have continued to work with the Council's Anti-Social Behaviour team regarding youths causing issues for local businesses in the area. Acceptable Behaviour Contracts have been issued to youths in the presence of their parents and criminal offences have also been dealt with and referred to the youth offending team.
This quarter more prolific shoplifters have been arrested and received prison sentences. Another Criminal Behaviour Order has been issued by the courts banning the subject, who is a prolific thief, from entering the area for the next two years to protect the local businesses and applications are being submitted to court for two more so that they can be arrested on sight if breached.
Operation Halt continues monthly regarding repeat complaints of speeding and other road related concerns and officers routinely seize vehicles that are either involved in criminality or road related offences during routine patrol. E-scooters and e-bikes are also targeted and seized due to the danger they pose to both the public and riders.
The team regularly conduct stop searches, which has led to mostly drugs and stolen property being seized and action taken against the offenders. The licensing officer ,in company with the council licensing team, also recovered thousands of pounds of counterfeit goods from a Town Centre store utilising information provided by the community.
Officers have attended a number of events and community venues in the area and our next quarterly community meeting is in November and will be advertised on the GMP website and Facebook nearer the time.
Finally, with the festive season fast approaching we will be arranging crime prevention advice surgeries and there will be a greater police presence in the area to ensure everyone using the Town Centre feels safe. This will be advertised on the Bury Facebook page.
I would ask that if you have any information or concerns to report these in the usual way via the GMP website or anonymously via CrimeStoppers on the telephone number 0800 555 111.
For any more general issues or if you wish to be placed in touch with your local Police Officer or PCSO please email [email protected] or call 0161 856 8204 (office hours). Thanks
